From a niece
"To all the caring hands at Thornbrook:
Just as our uncle is an unforgettable man among us, so too,
are you at Thornbrook. Each and everyone of you were part
of his last two years, whether you met his needs by phone,
by mail, behind the scene, or in person. You were his link
to independence and dignity, and each of you became his friend.
You were his personal "hospice" and he held you
in great regard.
On behalf of my uncle and his family... a million thanks for
your loving and dedicated care."
From
a husband
"I would like to thank the nurses on your staff who cared
for my wife during her battle with cancer. All the nurses
gave gentle and loving care and were a credit to your health
care unit.
Health care can become routine, yet my wife was looked after
as if she were a special case and was treated as an individual
and in a truly professional manner.
When a family like mine is aware that the cancer is incurable
and one can only just give love and comfort, it was so reassuring
when the quality of care was given with compassion and understanding
- as with the case with your nursing staff."
From
a daughter
"To the people at Thornbrook:
In the final stages of my father's terminal illness we employed
a few of your RNs. We wanted to thank all of you, but in particular,
we wanted to acknowledge the two shift nurses who were outstanding.
Dad did give up his fight on December 4. Up to that point,
these two ladies cared for Dad as if one of their own loved
ones, comforted us and stayed with us.
We're sure there were a few other things they did beyond the
regular job description. It's wonderful to know that there
are truly caring people in the world.
Keep up the great work.
Best of luck to all of you and your organization."
From
a daughter to her mother's caregiver
"On behalf of our family I would like to take this opportunity
to thank you most sincerely for your kind services to our
late mother.
You are a professional caretaker who carried out all duties
in an exemplary way. We are, however, especially grateful
that you did so not only as a professional but took a personal
interest, getting involved and doing all you could for our
mother as if she was someone close to yourself. In fact we
know that you developed a personal relationship during this
difficult time and cared for her beyond the call of duty.
We noted and very much appreciated that, and it put our minds
at ease knowing that our mother is in good hands.
We wish you much success and happiness for your future."
